Mangaluru, Aug 6: Principal of St Aloysius College (SAC) Fr Dr Praveen Martis and renowned entrepreneur in cashew industry Walter D’Souza inaugurated the Fr Joseph Willy hall and Fr Joseph Willy computer laboratory here at Maffei block at St Aloysius College on Friday August 6.
Rector of St Aloysius Institutions Fr Melvyn J Pinto blessed the hall and computer lab which is named after the first rector and principal of St Aloysius College, Fr Joseph A Willy.
The dignitaries also unveiled three projects at St Aloysius College namely the virtual tour of St Aloysius Institutions, digital garden and St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) website.
Addressing the gathering, Walter D’Souza said, “The campus has improved without taking much help from the beneficiaries. St Aloysius College is known for giving and take very little or nothing.”
Fr Melvyn J Pinto said, “I am overwhelmed with the projects taken up in the college one after the other. We have wonderful networking with the stakeholders who join hands together in the development of the college.”
Finance officer Fr Vincent Pinto informed that Rs 20 lac was granted by former union minister Oscar Fernandes out of which 37 computers and one server was brought.
Fr Vincent Pinto welcomed the gathering, Fr Dr Praveen Martis rendered the vote of thanks and director of Maffei block Dr Loveena Lobo compered the programme.
President of St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) Steevan Pinto was present.
