Mangaluru, Aug 3: In the backdrop of tighter measures being taken at Karnataka's border with Kerala because of the spurt of coronavirus cases in that state, Karnataka additional director general of police (ADGP), Pratap Reddy, visited Talapady border on Tuesday August 3, and scrutinized the security measures in place.
He gathered information about additional police security and checks being conducted there. Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, provided details to the ADGP.
City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, and district superintendent of police Rishikesh Sonawane, issued strict instructions to the staff at the border not to allow anyone into the district without Covid negative reports.
The ADGP asked the police officials and Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner to take more stringent measures at the border.
