Mangaluru, Aug 2: District Congress president Harish Kumar termed the state government as ‘inactive’ on their failure in handling the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
Addressing media here on Sunday August 1, Harish Kumar said, “The government did not learn any lessons from the first wave of the pandemic. We had to bear the brunt of the second wave. And now, we are inching towards the third wave. After Bengaluru, Dakshina Kannada district stands second in the state in daily rising cases. Despite having improved high-end medical facilities in the district, the government is unable to control the pandemic. Even the vaccination supply is less in the district. The government is directly responsible for this. The poor are suffering and unable to pay hospital bills.
“Former chief minister Yediyurappa when resigning from his post, cried claiming that he did not get enough support from the high command. BJP MLAs claim that their party has crossed the limits of corruption. There is lot of indifference among the party leaders. After Bommai became the chief minister, he visited Uttar Kannada district for name sake and returned back without addressing the problems of the people who were severely affected by flood.
“The BJP’s great achievements in two years of Yediyurappa’s government are corruption, indifference among party leaders and vaccination issues. Will this great achievement continue is Bommai-led government also,” questioned Harish Kumar.
