Inesh Miranda from Kanajar elected president of ICYM Udupi diocese

Udupi, Aug 1: Inesh Miranda of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kanajar has been unanimously elected president of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of the Udupi diocesan central council for the year 2021-22. The election was held on Sunday August 1 at Bishop's House, Udupi.

Fr Charles Menezes, director of ICYM Udupi diocese announced the new office-bearers for the year 2021-22. He also administered the oath to the new council and wished the office-bearers a fruitful year of service and leadership.

Prior to the oath-taking ceremony, the Fr Menezes conducted a short session for the presidents and secretaries of all the units and motivated them to reach to those on the peripheries, in the words of Pope Francis.

Derick Mascarenhas, the programme coordinator of the diocesan youth commission compered the programme.

Around 50 presidents and secretaries of ICYM parish units were present for the meeting and installation ceremony of the new council.

President of Lions Dist 317C (Udupi, Shimoga, Davanagere), 32 new LEO Clubs were inaugurated - a world record in Lions organisation spread across 220 countries.     Happy to know that our enterprising youngster, Inesh Miranda has been elected as President of ICYM Udupi this year. My heartfelt Congratulations to him and his Loving Parents and Family. I am confident, he will do well; and go along with usual traditions setin, in Udupi Diocese, under the leadership and guidance of our Spiritual Superiors.
