Kasargod: Trying to End Scuffle, Man Pays Through His Life

Kasargod, Sep 15: A person, who tried to end a fight between two men, was beaten up by the duo to death. The incident occurred on the night of Monday September 13 near Koyankara veterinary hospital in Trikaripura in the taluk.

M Hamid (55), residing at Trikaripura Ayichchil, died in the incident. Two persons known to him, P P Shaffi (32) from Kozhikode, and Edattummal Ullas, both of whom stay in their quarters in Koyankara, were involved with a violent brawl, when Hamid tried to stop them. As the two turned their ire on Hamid and hit him hard, Hamid collapsed and died on the spot.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately, but could not be saved. Shaffi, who was injured due to stone pelting during the clash, was also admitted to hospital. After conducting post mortem at Periyaram Medical College Hospital, the body of Shaffi was handed over to his kin.
