Mangalore, Sep 15: It is important to prepare a report on all the development projects to be taken up based on resources available keeping in mind the population growth in coming 25 years, said G G Mohandas Prabhu, president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
He was speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday September 14. Speaking on the infrastructure of the city, he said that a good comprehensive development plan and study must be done with regard to road-widening and taking up monorail in Mangalore.

The KCCI further plans to provide good market facilities for the people and plans to have at least 15 food markets within the Mangalore City Corporation limits. This matter will be further discussed with mayor Rajani Dugganna during the next meet of the KCCI with the mayor on Friday September 17. He observed that it was difficult to ready bus shelters without proper footpaths and also informed on the implementation of surveillance system at all the major junctions to alleviate traffic problem.
He also saw the need to team up with the police officials in order to avoid illegal activities and thus maintain the industrial assets.
The city lacks full-fledged tourism office, he said and added that the issue will be discussed with the authorities concerned at tourism conclave to be held in January. He also reiterated the plans to develop the Mangalore Passport Seva Kendra providing additional facilities to help the public.
Vice-president Latha R Kini, treasurer B Chandrakanth Rao, secretaries like Mohammed Ameen and Arjun L A Pinto Prabhu, committee member like Surendra Prabhu, Rama Mohan Rai Maroor and Vishwanath Kadri among others were present.
