Mangaluru, Jul 23: “BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel had once challenged me to make Dalit as chief minister (CM) of Karnataka. Now he has the chance to install a Dalit as the CM of the state. Nalin, who speaks about social justice, immediately appoint a Dalit as the CM,” challenged former CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to the reporters in the city, Siddaramaiah further said, “BJP is not at all bothered about the public. They did not have concern for the people of Karnataka in the earlier days. Yediyurappa has not given the compensation for the victims of the flood disaster of 2019 itself. This time also the rains have caused loss of life and damage to property. However, the government, instead of working on war footing speed for the victims, is busy with change of CM.
“Now BJP is going to remove Yediyurappa from the CM position. However, the one who will be installed will also be corrupt. None of the religious leaders of Math should get themselves involved in politics because the opinion of the people is important in politics. No one should interfere in the internal affairs of the party.”
Responding on the matter of taking back migrant ministers of BJP back into Congress, Siddaramaiah said, “I do not know whether the migrants who have left our party will join back or not. I had made it very clear on the floor of the assembly itself that I will not take them back into the party. I am committed to my statement.”
“Youth leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi had asked us to get the corrupt BJP government removed in the state. I had said a month ago that Yediyurappa will lose his chair. I had information from Congress high command in this matter. But I do not know who will be the next CM,” he said.
