Mangaluru, Jul 20: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Saleem Ahmed said, “The government has completely failed in tackling pandemic and become a lifeless government.”
Addressing media here on Tuesday July 20, he said, “The government has lost its morality. They are generating money out of dead bodies. BJP stands for ‘Bhrashta Janata Party’ with corrupt administration. During the last seven years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown hell to the people instead of heaven. People are cursing the chief minister B S Yediyurappa-led state government. As opposition, we continuously warned the government regarding the second wave of Covid, but BJP were busy discussing about Jarkiholi sleaze CD issue and on the replacing of the chief minister.
“Due to lack of oxygen, 36 people died at Chamarajanagar. The chief minister has still not visited the place and taken action against the officials. What else can we term this government other than ‘lifeless’ and dead? In what way the government can protect the public? People are fed up of the state and central government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be awarded an Oscar award for telling lies to the people. The government is directly responsible for the deaths during the pandemic. We are also conducting a death audit. Covid deaths are not being reported just to avoid giving compensation to the victims,” he said.
When asked about change of chief minister in the ruling BJP, he said, “The BJP high command itself has no faith on chief minister B S Yediyurappa. He is the weakest chief minister ever. The government has totally failed to run the state as they do not have any concern towards its people.”
Refuting reports of a tug-of-war between D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah and groupism in the Congress, he said, “We have only one group that is Congress. We will focus on the upcoming elections, generating mass leadership and come back to power. Even people want Congress to come back to power and send the present government home.”
When asked about Nalin Kumar Kateel’s viral audio, MLA U T Khader said, “The chief minister should clarify if the audio is genuine or fake.”
