Second PU results: Girls outshine boys, Dakshina Kannada stands first, Udupi fourth

Bengaluru, Jul 20: State minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, announced the results of Karnataka Pre-University Education (PUE) or PU examinations on Tuesday July 20. A total of 6,66,497 lac students who had appeared in the PU exams will get their results through the website- http://karresults.nic.in.

The results of 3,35,138 boys and 3,31,359 girls was announced. As many as 4,50,106 students have secured distinction and first class. A total of 1,95,056 boys and 2,52,056 girls have secured distinction and first class, 1,47, 055 second class, and 68,729 students have managed to pass. 

Out of the total 6,60,497 students, 5,90,153 were regular while 76,344 were repeaters. The results of 2,51,686 students from commerce, 2,19,777 from science, and 1,95,334 arts stream was announced. 

Like other boards, the II PUC exam was also affected due to COVID-19 pandemic and no exams were conducted. Hence, 45 percent of marks obtained in the first PU, 45 percent of marks obtained in SSLC examination and ten percent of internal assessment marks have been put together to announce the result. 

As many as 445 students from Dakshina Kannada (DK) have secured 600 out of 600 to bag the top spot in the state. Bengaluru South stands second with 302 students, Bengaluru North third with 261 students, Udupi fourth with 149 students and with 104 students, Hassan has bagged the fifth spot.

    Educations, exams are No value now, become joke, i bet if you give open book exams to these students they will not score 100 of 100 in all subject , this is some thing not as per good education system.

    I am really pleased and happy to know the un-exected results of this time's Second PU results. Specially happy to see that our Studiest lot from Girls have gone beyond our Boys efforts ! What a relief to the Girls for achieving such an Enterprising Results of their efforts ! Exceptionally Good Going indeed. My Hearty Congrats to ALL of them, especially the Girl's Section for outbeating the Boys. Take the Results on your side; and move forward to garner your Will Power and Strength and explore the possibility of achieving Greater Things in your Lives !!! God Bless you ALL - Well Done !!!

    You are right but, did we ever think that am i capable to handle the available opportunities. We always point out that state couldn't provide employment opportunities but have we ever thought that am I the worthy candidate? Did I acquire enough skill and expanded my capabilities to handle the higher and challenging posts? Think about it.

    Hearty congratulations to all the meritorious students for their success in the 2nd PUC. Last 15 months, undoubtedly a very difficult period not only for the students but to all. Hence I take this opportunity to appreciate the great work done by all relating to this examination. I wish all the best to all. Let's all remember to follow meticulously.....wearing the face mask correctly, maintain social distance n wash our hands frequently and care about our health, also others too.
