Udupi: Two used cups hold clue in Vishala Ganiga's murder case

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 14: The police are continuing with investigation from several angles into the shocking murder of Vishala Ganiga during daytime. Vishala, daughter of Vasu Ganiga from Nayakwadi, Gangolli, had been married to Ramakrishna Ganiga, working as personal assistant for a man from Bijoor who currently is a Dubai-based entrepreneur, nine years back. The couple lived with their daughter in Dubai. In 2019, they acquired a flat at Kumragodu near Brahmavar which they used whenever they visited India.

It is said that two used tea cups were found inside the flat, which gives the clue that known people would have murdered her. Vishala did not let strangers inside and when strangers including her husband's friends approached, she used to confirm their identity with her husband through video call before entertaining them, it is said.

Vishala Ganiga

Vishala was strangulated with a mobile charger cable initially and then laptop charger cable. The fact that only the ornaments worn by her were stolen even though there were other ornaments inside the house, has given rise to suspicion that this was a ploy to mislead the investigators. The auto rickshaw driver who dropped her at the apartment told the police that he came to the apartment from Gujjadi and returned after dropping Vishala. It is said that Vishala knew the auto rickshaw driver well and used his services whenever she was on a visit to her native place.

It is said that Vishala's husband used to deal in properties and had acquired properties in different places. In some cases, there were disputes over the properties, it is being claimed. Therefore, enmity could also be a reason for the murder.

(hand of politicians or politically connected people are not ruled out)..., The family name Ganiga itself now a days allergy to some politically connected people....

Cynthia, I understood your over indulgence in the subject. These days lot's of bad incidents on women's part and justice takes it's own sweet time. ."Vicky bhi gayab." who says ? He may be commenting on different identity. Do not worry, there are many who support your views in Daiji. Podi meen my choice of curry with bimbli or raw tender mango. Now it's year since I had borsi masli curry. Not to worry once I am back I will cook food of my choice. (dry fish Shark, Bangude curry wow !)

Killings in property dealings are very common in Metros like Mumbai as in majority of big deals almost always underworld is involved; any major loss to one guy leads to ruthless consequences as stakes are very high! If the perpetrators are powerful guys with backing, it's very difficult to nail them! The above is just a post on the reality of how the property mafia operates & in no way a comment on this tragic killing of a young lady! May her soul RIP!

There could be a possibility of two known people visiting her and then after they left someone else must have come to her apartment. I thought apartments are the safest to protect senior citizens and single women or married women living alone but now I feel no one is safe anywhere.

Apartments are more safer if they have proper security guards (24*7) and CCTVs atleast at the entrance...

We have lived in apartments without CCTVs for over 30 years and more. We feel so safe. There were armed thieves seen on CCTV in our compound with masks but not caught till date. My Mother in law has lived alone for many years here in Mumbai with no CCTV. It was installed just 3 years back. CCTVs are helpful no doubt but not always. I never let any strangers inside the flat inspite of CCTVs

I am very surprised to know the fact here is, why she left her parents behind and went along with her baby to her native place if she wanted to return in the evening? All of them could have gone together in the evening after her bank work got done?? Leave her parents again come back for some work, again to go back on the same day.....something is very strange from Vishalas part too....Anyway, god alone knows....om shanthi

Mangalurian, under someone's pressure from her own known people, she must have left her parents and baby to their native place. Otherwise, why she will do this of her own. Feeling very sad looking at her really....What these murderers gained by killing her ?

Cynthia DK,to answer your question why she left her parents etc, there is a plausible answer.Sometimes what we make cant understand ourselves.she must have thought she will come back soon and get ready for birthday party of her child.?One will be only cleverer later when mistakeen .But by her it was too late.I am sure she wanted to part money to someone in flat?Iam so sorry for her baby.

Imho the murder doesn't appear to be for gold, which probably was used to misguide the investigations. As her hubby seemed to have disputes in property matters, it appears to be a case of revenge killing as property mafia is well known to involve all sorts of notorious elements due to the high stakes involved!

Some years back, in Parel, Mumbai, an elderly woman and her son were murdered. When police went to the apartment, they found, a bedding was spread in the living room. Mother and son had separate beds for them. By this, police came to the conclusion that one relative was in their apartment on the night. Within no time, they checked all their relative's movement. Then they found out, one of their relatives had gone to Mumbai. two days before murder. They caught him and murder mystery was solved. Here also they have got a clue, and Police will definitely solve the mystery within some days.

Looks like 'SUPARI" or a "Maniac"... Two tea cups rule out ' Maniac'. So someone known had come with an intention to kill! No looting and some theft for misleading means planned murder by some people who were (dangerously) close to her! What a tragedy!

Jamal,UAE, dear friend, I do not find the similarity between this and Bhasker Shetty murder. Mr.Shetty was murdered by his wife and son. Bhasker Shetty had made a will in his mother's name, because he claimed his wife was having illicit relationship with somebody. Here, this couple is in good relationship and her husband trusted her and given power of attorney to her to act on his behalf. The Shetty's son was a body builder and there was news that he had stamped on his father by his boots. Here, the murder was by a third party and not by spouse.
