Udupi, Jul 12: "Our party workers have served people day and night, they have distributed oximeters and provided ambulance service to those in need. They have even performed the last rites of Covid victims. As many as 38,000 ration kits have been distributed in the Udupi," said BJP district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak at the inaugural of the BJP party workers’ special meeting.
He was speaking after inaugurating the third special BJP workers' meeting at Town Hall, Ajjarkad here on Monday, July 12. "Party activists have served the society effectively and the same will continue. The next goal is winning all the seats in local panchayat elections."
Moodubidre MLA Umanath Kotian speaking at the programme said, "All are facing difficult situations due to Covid lockdown. During this pandemic, party activists responded to the problem of people. Our next aim is to win the panchayat election and these meetings are to prepare everyone for the elections. Being in the service of people is sure to get us victory."
"One of the primary reasons to hold the meeting was to create awareness about developmental projects and schemes launched by PM Modi among the unorganized labourers. When the party and union are developed, party workers will grow. If you work sincerely and have luck on your side, it will allow you to secure a good life."
The party paid respects to the departed BJP workers who succumbed to Covid.
Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, president, Coastal Development Authority, Yashpal Suvarna, general secretary, OBC wing, Sadananda Kappettu, Kutyar Naveen Shetty and others were present.
Pernankila Shreesha Nayak welcomed the guests and Reshma Uday Inna compered the programme.
