Kasargod, Jul 11: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred in the district, a year old child died as a beetle, an insect, got stuck in its windpipe.

Anved, son of Satyendra and Ranjini couple, residents of Nullippady Chennikere on the outskirts of the city, is the unfortunate baby which lost its life in this incident.

The boy who was playing at home on Saturday night, suddenly fell unconscious. Though he was rushed to the hospital, the boy succumbed on the way.

The cause of death of the boy could not be ascertained by the doctor. During post-mortem, a beetle was found dead in the trachea of the boy. It is suspected that the boy must have swallowed it accidentally while playing and died due to asphyxiation.

Anved is survived by his parents and a two and half year old brother Rudveg. Kasargod police registered a case and completed the formalities.

Let the parents have the power to grieve. Salute to great parents who allowed to do post mortrm in such a difficult time. usually Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is diagnosis in this type of death. and parents not willing to post motrm unless it was a medico legal case.
