Mithun Rai said, “The BJP government has hiked petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis. Petrol has crossed RS 100-mark. Former Mangaluru city mayor, Shashidhar Hegde, inaugurated the rally.
Addressing the participants, Hegde said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, had run the country's administration efficiently for ten years. "The NDA government which rose to power thereafter, has proved to be anti-people. During The election, they said they would bring down petroleum prices. But now the people have realized about the futility of trusting their assurances. The people now have been hoping that their past days will return. Now, employment and business have reached rock bottom. At the same time, prices of daily essentials apart for fuel price, have been going up beyond the reach of common people. We are holding this protest to condemn the administration by the current government. KPCC has come forward to extend a helping hand to the people facing difficulties on account of
coronavirus for a month," he explained.
