Mandya: Scared of post marital separation, twin sisters end lives

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (SP)

Mandya, Jul 5: Twin sisters who grew together and were strongly attached to each other all along their lives so far, ended their lives together.

The 19-year-old sisters were Deepika and Divya, daughters of Suresh and Yashoda couple from Hanasanahalli village in Sirangapatna taluk in the district. They hanged themselves in two separate rooms.

The family said that the twins were always close to each other since they were born. The parents had planned to marry them off to boys from different families.

The sisters could not bear the thought of their separation upon marriage and therefore, chose to end their lives in the rooms of their house.

A report in this connection was filed at Arakere police station. The police have begun an investigation.

What is wrong nowadays?very tragic and senseless death.I know twins are very much bound with each other.Parents had no other topic so early to marry them off?Better to educate them and so sisters could so choose their life and marry their own chosen one.Or parents could choose twin boys or brothers as someone suggested. They were only in teenage ,19 years.Whole life was in front of them.Never thought of parents?so sorry.what made them to go this way ?Parents threatend?May their souls rest in peace.May God give them enough strength to bear their pain.Suicide of younger generation increases nowadays.Govt.must do something to have self confidence in them. Some Psychological therapy or telefon advice to the peole may help.

Very sorry for the fate of their parents. They have the option to get marriage to a single person of their choice. So that both the sisters happily live with one husband.
