Mangaluru, Jul 5: After a gap of over two months, the religious places and malls are being opened on Monday May 5. After the government announced its decision to open these places in its Unlock-3 measures, temples are preparing to welcome the devotees. Sanitization and cleaning work were taken up in the temple premises on a war footing on Sunday July 4.
While the visitors can only pay obeisance to the Lord and not permitted to offer any services to the deity, namaz is permitted to be held in mosques subject to adherence to Covid19 rules like using sanitisers, wearing of masks and maintaining social distance.
Subrahmanya temple management said that devotees cannot stay in the temple lodges. In Dharmasthala too people can have the darshan of the deity but will not be served Prasadam unlike in the past. Dakshina Kannada Qazi, Alhaj Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar has requested the people to attend to cleansing process (vaza) at home and bring cloth used on the floor during Namaz (musalla) from home. Public relations officer of Mangalore diocese, Roy Castelino, said that all the churches will are open and prayers can be organized there.
On Sunday, malls in the city were cleaned up and sanitized. Dakshina Kannada district Private Bus Owners Association president, Dilraj Alva, said that in all likelihood, about a hundred buses will take to the roads on Monday. He said that the buses plan to miss the last trip as the state government has allowed bus movement only till 9 pm.
