Karnataka's single-day cases plunge to 1,564, positivity rate at 1.02%

Bengaluru, Jul 4: Karnataka on Sunday July 4 continued to maintain a steady rate of decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 1,564 new infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state have dropped to 44,846. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally has come down to 352 new cases, but is still the highest among all districts.

As many as 59 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Dakshina Kannada recording 8 deaths and Ballari 7. With this, the toll so far has risen to 35,367.

The state recorded 4,775 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 27,73,407

So far, Karnataka has seen 28,53,643 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 1.02%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 3.77%.

As many as 2,37,64,486 people have received vaccination so far.
