Mangalore, Sep 7: Vakilkumar Sonkar and Mohini Jaiswal, lovers from a village in Uttar Pradesh, had run away from their homes because of the opposition of their parents to their relationship. After deciding to flee from their homes, they came to Manjeshwar recently, and started to stay with their distant relative there.
After the parents of the girl and boy came here, discussions were held at Manjeshwar police station in the presence of the activists of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike. As the girl refused to go home with her parents, the two signed a bond, agreeing to marry. With the help of the office bearers of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, their marriage was solemnized at Arya Samaj Bhavan in Balmatta in the city on Monday September 6.
Vedike president, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Dharmika Sauharda Samiti president, Sukumar Rao Kotekar, secretary of the Vedike, Hamid Hassan Madoor, treasurer, Ratnakar Suvarna, and several other dignitaries and members of the Vedike, were present there to oversee the arrangements and bless the newlywed couple.
