Mangaluru, Jul 3: Muzrai minister and district in-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary directed concerned officials to make necessary preparations so that the SSLC examinations will be held smoothly. The exams are going to be held on July 19 and July 22, as per schedule.
He was speaking after presiding over the meeting to discuss the preparations taken for SSLC examinations at the deputy commissioner’s auditorium.
“There should be no room for even minor lapses during the SSLC exam. Only 12 students will be accommodated in each room in order to maintain social distance,” he said.
Deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra said that the staff deployed to supervise the examination should compulsorily get vaccinated. “The block education officer and health department officials should ensure that the staff get vaccinated on priority," the DC said.
“Transport arrangements should be made to ferry students from their residences. Make sure that private buses are not cancelled. 441 students and their parents arriving from the Kerala border should be compulsorily subjected to RT-PCR tests. Covid positive students should be brought in an ambulance. They should be permitted to write the examination at Covid Care Centres. The question papers should be handed over to them by wearing PPE suits,” he said.
“Multiple choice question papers are prepared for students this time. Confusion and fear among students should be prevented. The examination centres should be completely sanitized during the gap of two days in between the examinations. Suitable police security should be made available during the said days. Students are allowed to arrive at the examination centre two hours before the exam,” he said.
Deputy director of public instruction, Mallayya Swamy stated that 179 examination centres have been arranged this time. “32,567 students in the district will write the examination. Two rooms are reserved in every examination centre for students with Covid symptoms. 3,708 staff members are prepared. 2,718 rooms are arranged,” he said.
DSP Rishikesh Sonawane said that tight police security will be provided for the examinations. District panchayat chief executive, Kumar and MLA Vedavyas Kamath were on the dais. Concerned officials took part in the meeting.
