Weekend curfew: Private, KSRTC buses ply in Udupi despite DC’s orders

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Jul 3: Deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha had clearly instructed bus operators not to operate vehicles on Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4 in the wake of weekend curfew. However, it seems that both the private bus owners and KSRTC officials did not heed to the orders and operated the buses on Saturday.

Though some of the private buses stopped operating later in the morning, KSRTC and some express buses are running as normal weekday.

DC Jagadeesha’s order was thrown to the wind by KSRTC. It is operating buses to Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Agumbe, Karkala and Kundapur.

It is very unfortunate to see the state-owned transport corporation clearly violating the orders of a government official.
