Bengaluru, Jul 2: The State Development Council, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru on Friday, discussed the action plans of all departments for the year 2021-22 and gave its formal approval.
The Chief Minister said the State Government has allocated a total of Rs 26,005.01 crore to 35 different development departments for the development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes during the year. While Rs 18,331.54 crore has been set apart for the development of SC people, the allocation for the ST community is Rs 7,673.47 crore for the year.
All the departments have been asked to release the grants for the works during the first quarter under the SC/ST Tribal Sub Plan and execute the works.
The action plans prepared by different departments was examined by the Nodal Agency which met under the Chairmanship of Social Welfare Minister B Sriramulu and the State Development Council accorded approval after making changes.
The Chief Minister directed that the approved action plans be sent back to the departments concerned and implement them in a time-bound manner by issuing necessary orders, if necessary with suitable changes. The programmes pertaining to education, finance, health and other developmental works must be effectively implemented to achieve 100% performance, he said.
Yediyurappa specially instructed that sanctioning land and other benefits to the SC/STs must always be done in joint names of both the husband and wife. The meeting decided that while providing grants from the State and Union governments for construction of houses and toilets to be enhanced from the present Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 each.
Deputy Chief Minister Govind M Karjol, Deputy Chief Minister Transport Minister Laxman Savadi, Social Welfare Minister B Sriramulu, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K S Eshwarappa, MLAs Raju Gowda, N Mahesh, S Raghu, Aihole Dhuryodhana and MP Dr G Umesh Jadav, Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, Additional Chief Secretary Dr N Nagambhikadevei and other officials were present at the meeting.
