Mangaluru: Private city bus operators to stop services during weekend curfew

Mangaluru, Jul 2: Private city bus owners of the city have decided not to run the buses on Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4 in the wake of the weekend curfew imposed by the district administration.

Deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V however, had clarified on Thursday July 1, that the buses are allowed to ply during weekend curfew. Dilraj Alva, president of bus owners’ association, in a statement given to Daijiworld media said that the association has decided not run buses in city on July 3 and 4.

KSRTC buses will however be in operation throughout Dakshina Kannada district during weekend. This information was provided to Daijiworld by KSRTC divisional controller Arun Kumar.

    Jossey bhav, Will you sponsor some bullock carts to Mangaluru and udupi, who have no cars so far....or 75 pairs of bulls to send to my village and i will distribute them to the needy....25 pairs to udupi...udupi dc will do the needful.

    I wonder what happens on a Saturday and Sunday curfew. Either the authorities are not using their brains or they simply are dumb. A curfew without a curfew !! Wow !!
