Madikeri: Teacher builds 20-feet high rack to handle network problem

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (SP)

Madikeri, Jul 1: It has been 18 months since schools were closed due to Covid lockdown. Even though the government has asked schools to conduct online classes, it is difficult to get network in Kodagu, which is full of hills, hillocks and forests. The teachers therefore work hard to handle classes. But Satish, teacher of the government lower primary school at Mullur in Somwarpet taluk, Kodagu, has built a 20-feet high rack by the side of his house in Chikkakolathur village.

His village has lot of network problem. As such Satish has identified the spot where he can catch the network, and prepared a rack by using bamboo, areca nut stems, trees etc. He also has used mesh, wires and paddy hay for building this tree house modelled rack which he has turned into an online class room.

As the rack is 20 feet high, he says he is getting good network. Moreover, as the rack is separately located, no one disturbs him. He teaches science subjects to the students. He has bought three black boards to look attractive for the students. He also poses some WhatsApp challenges to the students in the morning. In the evening, he discusses different issues through Google Meet.

Height of ignorance. Who told him that the signal would be available in elevated places? Shame to know that he is a teacher

Anand R, Mangalore: I think u are born and brought up in city life. so you may not be aware of villages as where and all network available. and with elevation network is available or not as well... in villages the houses will be in the depth of the hills and network is not available properly even if you are down by 20ft. Please dont show ur literacy here by commenting simply for the sake of comments... be Chill. Instead of demotivating anyone motivate people.

Dear Praveen, you are right. Telecom operators atleast refund the recharge amount if the signal is interrupted in places where thry claim a good network.

Wah! Necessity is mother of inventions! The best tools receive their temper from fire, their edge from grinding, the noblest characters are developed in a similar way! Obstacles often act as stimulus for creative mind.
