Mangaluru: Police raid a shisha cafe over lockdown violations - Arrest manager, employee

Mangaluru, Jun 30: The city police conducted a raid at Cloud Shisha cafe located in Kankanady at 5 pm on Wednesday, June 30 under the Mangaluru south police station limits.

The police have arrested two men in this regard, the manager and an employee. The police will also be writing for the cancellation of the cafe's trade licence.

In the raid, 17 people were found consuming hookah. A probe will also be conducted as to whether drugs were consumed.

A case has been registered against the owner under the Epidemic Act for keeping the cafe open after 2 pm.

    Can the Government or the Health Minister explain why permission is given for Mass Smoking in One place ,when all knows smoking is injurious to health,in these hookah joints drugs and below 18 yrs male and female can be seen anytime.

    For such a type of business, Police department must connect the CC camara connection to nearby Police station. So they can monitor regularly.

After 2014 the headweight of govt officials, bureaucrats is all time high..They give a damn to general public.. people should unite and revolt against the apratheid policies of the state saffron govt..

    Many Hotels are open up even after 2pm. To be precise upto 3pm. Hotels are suffering miserably, so let them live. The issue here is using of hookah, drugs... These are gross violation of NDMA act.
