Recoveries outnumber new coronavirus cases in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jun 29: Karnataka on Tuesday, June 29 reported a decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with Karnataka recording 3,222 new infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 85,997. Bengaluru Urban reported a single-day tally of 753 new cases on Tuesday.

As many as 93 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Tuesday, with Mysuru, Bengaluru Urban and Ballari recording, 10, 16 and 8 deaths respectively. With this, the toll so far has risen to 34,929.

The state recorded 14,724 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 27,19,479.

So far, Karnataka has seen 28,40,428 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 2.54%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.88%.

As many as 2,24,18,621 people have received vaccination so far.
