Mangaluru, Jun 29: Police arrested two Nigerian nationals from Bengaluru in connection to the recent drug racket case where seven people were arrested and 235 gram MDMA was seized under Konaje station limits, taking the arrests in the case to nine.
The arrested have been identified as Paul Ohamobhi and Uchechuku Malaki Elaquachi. All cases in the recent past are connected to each other where the accused procured drugs from Bengaluru and distributed among consumers and peddlers in Kasargod, Kerala, Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
Earlier in this connection, another Nigerian, Stanley Chima, was arrested on June 21.
It is gathered in the probe that the Nigerian nationals are staying illegally in Bengaluru as their visa is expired. They came to India for education and are into T-shirt export business in Bengaluru.
“Police have received many inputs during the interrogation. More number of arrests are expected in the case. Those who helped the accused indirectly or directly are under the scanner,” said police commissioner N Shashi Kumar.
It also revealed that the accused used the help of a few locals for the purpose SIM cards and other transactions.
