Bengaluru, Jun 29: The BJP government has now extended support to the decision taken by the previous Congress regime to create an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) by removing the right to conduct investigation against the corrupt people which earlier was vested with the Lokayukta.
Before coming to power, the BJP had repeatedly said that it would give back the power to investigate the corrupt people back to the Lokayukta, by taking it away from the ACB.
However, in a surprise move, it has decided to bat for the continuance of the ACB as it is. The BJP, which had supported the formation of ACB after coming to power, has reiterated its changed stand before the high court too.
It told the high court that it will issue an order making minor changes in the formation of the ACB shortly.
