Jun 28: Dakshina Kannada reports 263 new Covid cases, 72 in Udupi; 17 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 28: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, June 28 reported 263 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 3.42%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,27,498 samples have been tested so far, out of which 9,35,370 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 92,128, out of which 5,412 are currently active.

As many as 843 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 85,551.

The district recorded 14 deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,165.

The district administration has collected Rs 92,58,717 in fines for 75,907 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 3,10,210 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 72 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 42,597, out of which 895 are currently active.

A total of 184 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 41,499 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 203 lives in the district, including three on Monday.

    In DK 100% of the patients who died because of Covid are not vaccinated. Almost the same percentage of people on ventilators are non vaccinated. People, get vaccinated.
