Bengaluru, Jun 28: Karnataka on Monday, June 28 maintained a steady rate of decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 2,576 new infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 97,592. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally has come down to 563 new cases.

As many as 93 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Monday, with Mysuru, Bengaluru Urban and Ballari recording, 8, 18 and 9 deaths respectively. With this, the toll so far has risen to 34,836.

The state recorded 5,933 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 27,04,755.

So far, Karnataka has seen 28,37,206 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 1.92%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 3.61%.

As many as 2,20,86,785 people have received vaccination so far.
