Raichur, Aug 30: Out of seven generation units of Raichur Thermal Power Station here, only four are working now. Three have been shut down because of coal supply bottlenecks and technical snags.
Units 1, 2 and 6 have stopped generating power. Repairs are being undertaken. Although the other four units together are expected to generate 1,000 mega watts of power, the present generation is only around 750 mw. The officials say that these units are not able to generate power to the optimum level, because of the supply of wet coal from the mines, which gives rise to certain technical problems while burning.
