Bengaluru, Jun 17: Minister for rural development and panchayat raj, K S Eshwarappa, said that a few legislators want the chief minister (CM) to be changed while several others insist on continuing with the current CM. He stated that some visited Delhi on this issue.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday June 16, Eshwarappa said that he had advised the party men not to issue any statements publicly on the issue. "I even told the MLA Renukacharya, not to collect signatures. This is an issue which needs to be discussed within four walls, not in the public. But it is now being openly debated. Arun Singh, during his three-day visit to the state, will discuss everything," he clarified.
Eshwarappa said that he had just said the other day that there is some confusion in the party but added that he had never blamed the migrants for this problem. On Wednesday, he changed his earlier comment as his statement faced stiff resistance from migrant leaders. He said that the BJP formed the government with the support of 17 migrants but insisted that he had never said that they are the root cause for the turmoil.
When his comment was sought on Eshwarappa's statement blaming migrants for the problem, deputy chief minister Dr Ashwath Narayan, said that no one came into the BJP from another planet and that those who deserted their parties and accepted the BJP's programmes and principles are now part of the BJP and that they were the ones who helped the BJP to come to power.
