Mangalore, Aug 29: Sangeet Bharati Foundation, the city-based organization that promotes music will hold series of Hindustani music and classical dance programmes across the country.
The series will kick-off from the city on Sunday August 29. In a press release, foundation's vice-president Narendra L Nayak stated that as the first event, Neela Bhagavath will give a vocal recital and jugalbandi will be presented by Sarwar Hussain (sarangi) and Ankush N Nayak (sitar) at the Town Hall here from at 6.00 pm onwards.
To enthral the Mangalorean art lovers the other events of the series are Kathak performance by Nirupama and Rajendra troupe from Bangalore on October 3), on November 21 a santoor recital by Tarun Bhattacharya of Kolkata and flute by Ronu Mazumdar of Mumbai followed by renditions by Upendra Bhat, Puttur Narasimha Nayak and Shankar Shanubhog.
Programmes at Mumbai will be held on December 4 and January 22, Pune on December 5, Kolkata on December 26 and Goa on January 21.
