Kundapur, Jun 11: “Farmer Uday Ganiga was murdered brutally beyond our imagination. Some people have been already arrested in this connection. It is a disappointment that some of the primary accused are yet to be arrested. We will exert pressure on the department level in this regard. Congress party will stage protests if the guilty go unpunished and if there is political interference,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
He was speaking to news reporters after visiting the residence of Uday Ganiga who was murdered by a group of men on June 5.
“The aggrieved family will get justice only when the guilty are punished. The government too should provide compensation on humane terms. We will visit the SP for impartial investigations. All those who are involved in the murder should face trial. We will protest at the state level in a democratic manner if the family does get justice,” he said.
Former MLA, K Gopala Poojary, district Congress president, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Vandse block Congress president, Pradeep Kumar Shetty Gudibettu, former president, Sampigedi Sanjiva Shetty, Shekhar Poojary, Prasanna Kumar Shetty and others were present.
