Bengaluru, Jun 11: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa held the quarterly review meeting of the Karnataka Development Project at Shikaripura in the Shivamogga district on Friday.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said the state is receiving a big quantity of Covid vaccines in the next two days.
He asked the district administration, elected representatives and the district in charge minister to work in close coordination to ensure that the Covid positivity rate in the district was brought down below 5%.
Yediyurappa wanted all leaders to ensure that the banks did not adjust the cash reliefs given by the government to different categories of the vulnerable people as part of the state government’s compensation package through the Direct Benefit Transfer route into the bank accounts against the loans availed by them. Those found violating the government’s directive will be dealt with severely, he said.
The chief minister wanted the work on the Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur railway project to be expedited.
Urban Development minister, Byarathi Basavaraj, MP B Y Raghavendra, MADB president, Gurumuthy, deputy commissioner, KB Shivakumar, superintendent of police Laxmi Prasad, KDP chief executive officer, Vaishali and others were present.
Review of Covid situation in Hassan
The chief minister reviewed the Covid control measures in Hassan district before leaving for Shikaripur.
Health and family welfare minister, Dr K Sudhakar, excise minister, K Gopalaiah, MLA H D Revanna and other officials attended the meeting.
