Udupi, Aug 27: The body of Chandrakant Bhandary (59), manager of South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank’s Bellur (Bantwal taluk) branch, was found lying on the Tenka Yermal beach near Padubidri on Thursday August 26 evening. The identity of the body was established by the policemen with the help of a mobile phone found on the body.
Bhadnary, a resident of Parakkor in Bantwal taluk, who left home on Wednesday morning to work in the bank, had gone missing thereafter. He had not attended the bank since then. As he had gone missing once in the past, and had been found from Mulky after two days, the family had not taken the present incident seriously.
The children of the deceased had begun searching for him since Thursday morning. As the mobile signals indicated that he was in the vicinity of Mulky tower, they had come to Mulky to search of their father. When the policemen called them, the two children were searching the lodges in Mulky for their father, it is learnt.
Although it is said that Bhandary occasionally suffered from mental imbalance and psychological pressure, no definite conclusion could be arrived at about the reasons for his death. A case of unnatural death was registered in Padubidri police station.
Bhandary is survived by wife, a daughter and two sons, who are twins.
