Mangaluru, Jun 9: The mortal remains of Ronald D'Souza (53), who had breathed his last at Jizan, Saudi Arabia, on March 19, have now reached his hometown. His mortal remains reached here after over two months, and the funeral is scheduled to be held on Wednesday June 9.
Ronald had joined a company in Saudi Arabia two years back as an electrician. He was a native of Pandithhouse, Thokottu. His lifeless body was found in the room where he lived, on March 19. His last contact with his wife was by a video call.

The company which failed to contact his family to convey the message of his demise finally got into contact with the Mumbai agent through whom Ronald had bagged the job. The agent had shared the information in Mangaluru-based WhatsApp groups. Based on this information, Indian Social Forum, basically having members from Ullal, began efforts to bring his body to India. The family members of the deceased had contacted G K Saleem of the Indian Social Forum. The team after searching in many hospitals, found that Ronald's mortal remains were stored in King Fahad Hospital.
Ronald’s family thanked Guruvayanakere G K Saleem, Siddique Ullal, Indian Social Forum Aseer central committee vice president Haneef Manjeshwar and MLA U T Khader, for the effort made by them to get Ronald’s mortal remains back to India.
Ronald is survived by wife and two children.
