Kundapur: Uday Ganiga murder - Car used in crime not registered on accused’s name

Kundapur, Jun 9: The car which the police seized from the spot where Uday Ganiga from Yadamoge was murdered is not in the name of Pranesh Yadiyal. It is found that even though the car is owned by Yadiyal, the registration certificate has not yet been transferred in his name.

It is suspected that the accused left the car at the murder spot and fled, in order to give the impression that someone else was involved with the crime. As per the case registered, 2012 model Renault Duster car was used for the murder. The original owner of the car happens to be N Divakar Shetty from Byndoor, who sold it to Pranesh. But Pranesh has not yet got it transferred in his name.

The police are yet to find out when the car was purchased and whether Pranesh Yadiyal bought this car recently for the specific purpose of committing the murder. This doubt has arisen as he failed to get the car transferred in his name.

The police action in arresting the accused without wilting under influence or pressure, has come in for lavish praise. BJP leader, Balachandra Bhat and Rajesh Bhat, who were arrested on Monday relating to the murder, were produced in the court here on Tuesday. They have been remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
