Udupi: Tipper driver from Mangaluru dies after vehicle topples during unloading

Udupi, Jun 6: In a tragic incident, a tipper driver died at Nandikoor here on Sunday June 6 after the vehicle toppled on him.

The deceased has been identified as Harish Kumar, a native of Mangaluru.

The mishap occurred when work was in progress at an industrial site belonging to a Mangaluru-based businessman.

 

Mud from the tipper was being unloaded at the site. Harish had alighted from the vehicle to make sure that all the mud from the tipper was unloaded. All of a sudden, the tipper overturned and Harish got trapped underneath.

Harish was working as a driver in a private bus in Mangaluru earlier. He had started working as a tipper driver due to lockdown restrictions.

A case in this connection has been registered at Padubidri police station.
