Udupi, Jun 5: "All the gram panchayat (GP), city corporation and local body members will be vaccinated,” said Kota Srinivas Poojary.
More than one lac members of the local bodies are recognised as Covid warriors by the Karnataka Health department. A order to vaccinate all the members of local bodies is also issued by the state government.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for Muzrai and Backward Classes Welfare had requested the chief minister B S Yediyurappa to recognise the members of gram panchayat, city corporation and municipalities as Covid warriors and vaccinate them on priority.
“Members of local bodies are working to contain Covid19 infection in grassroot levels. I express my gratitude to the chief minister for accepting my recommendation and recognising them as Covid warriors," said Kota Srinivas Poojary.
