Bengaluru, Jun 3: It is almost certain that the lockdown that is in implementation at present till June 7 to be extended till June 14. Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa is going to make an official announcement in this regard in the evening on Thursday June 3.
Sources said that the extension will be done in two phases. The first one will be till June 14, while the second will continue up to June 21. This decision is arrived at the meeting of the ministers that was held on Wednesday June 2. As the Covid pandemic second wave is still not under control in the state, it is said that Yediyurappa has agreed to extend the lockdown.
In the meeting discussion was also done to relax the lock down in districts where the numbers of infections are less. But it was not given a nod as it was felt that the moving around of people will further increase the infection rate.
It is also said that the timing of buying essentials will be the same after the extension of the lock down also. Public will be allowed to buy things only from 6 am to 10 am.
