Karnataka lockdown likely to be extended till June 14, CM's official announcement awaited

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jun 3: It is almost certain that the lockdown that is in implementation at present till June 7 to be extended till June 14. Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa is going to make an official announcement in this regard in the evening on Thursday June 3.

Sources said that the extension will be done in two phases. The first one will be till June 14, while the second will continue up to June 21. This decision is arrived at the meeting of the ministers that was held on Wednesday June 2. As the Covid pandemic second wave is still not under control in the state, it is said that Yediyurappa has agreed to extend the lockdown.

In the meeting discussion was also done to relax the lock down in districts where the numbers of infections are less. But it was not given a nod as it was felt that the moving around of people will further increase the infection rate.

It is also said that the timing of buying essentials will be the same after the extension of the lock down also. Public will be allowed to buy things only from 6 am to 10 am.

It's an absolute one word answer for this pandemic. Sufferer will suffer.. Compensation is nothing but inability by not providing an effective solution.. I wonder why there is selective approach allow Rick bus cab let them earn their living stop airlines and railways so that will be effective approach I really don't Have any issue except selective approach..

They have no clue of what they are doing. They have allowed certain activities. Who knows who is following the covid guidelines. All permitted places people work without mask and close proximity. .

The strategy of UP is to say infection has gone down lift lockdown completely and if again people start dying large scale say THIRD wave has started. Wonder what Karnataka govt 'model' will be.

Sir .. Get a bit creative .do not go by standard templates ..get a bot creative ..See if you can allow some other industries to function in a staggered way .. Yes Ban all wedding and other congregations .. But allow a few other industries to operate if they can arrange transport for their own staff.
