Bengaluru, Jun 2: The task force created by the state government on the steps to be taken to face the Covid third Wave under the chairmanship of leading cardiac surgeon, Dr Deviprasad Shetty will submit its report to chief minister B S Yediyurappa in a week.
The chief minister on Wednesday held discussions with Dr Shetty and the other members of the task force on the precautionary measures to be taken, infrastructure facilities to be created, the treatment facilities as well as the manpower and medicines necessary.
The chief minister said the state government will take necessary steps after receiving the report of the task force.
Deputy chief minister and state Covid task force chief, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, health and medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar, women and child welfare minister, Shashikala Jolle, chief secretary, P Ravikumar, chief minister’s additional chief secretary, Dr E V Ramana Reddy, health and family welfare department additional chief secretary, Jawaid Akhtar and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the deputy chief minister, Dr Ashwath Narayan, who visited Mulabaagilu in Kolar district later to inaugurate the Covid Care Centre set up in the old court building in the town, said the state government is making all efforts to gear up for facing the possible Covid third wave.
The Covid Care Centre established in the old court building is equipped with oxygenated beds to ensure better care of the Covid patients.
District in-charge minister, Aravind Limbavali, MP Munisway, State Handicrafts Corporation chairman, Dr Beluru Raghavendra Shetty, MLA Nagesh, MLC Narayana Swamy and others attended the function.
