Mangaluru, May 20: The cyclone 'Tauktae' which was created in Arabian Sea, has inflicted considerable amount of miseries on the people living in coastal Karnataka. Even before the people could come out of the influence of that cyclone comes the news that another cyclone is brewing over the Bay of Bengal. This cyclone is expected to bring more rains in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and other parts of the coast from next week onward.
Monsoon is round the corner. The meteorological department expects the monsoon to enter Kerala coast on May 31. Within a day or two from then, it will arrive in Karnataka coast. Before that, the coast will face the fury of the 'Yas' cyclone which has the likelihood of influencing the onset of the monsoon, it is said.

This cyclone has been named 'Yas' and it might hit either Kerala or West Bengal. Good rainfall is likely to occur from May 23 onward and continue for three to four days, the officials of the meteorological department opine.
The pre monsoon rains this time have been good. The pre-monsoon rains have two more weeks before they subside. The coast has got better than normal rainfall this time. Between March 1 and May 19, Dakshina Kannada received 188 percent over the normal pre-monsoon rains, while this percentage in Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Kodagu happens to be 284, 435 and 66 percent.
The cyclone, 'Tauktae' was expected to have some influence on the monsoon this time. But now another cyclone has been created. The chances of the delay in the onset of monsoon are said to be bleak.
