May 17: Dakshina Kannada reports 817 fresh corona cases, 897 in Udupi; 11 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 17: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 817 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday. The alarming rise in the number of new cases has pushed the total number of positive cases to 65,131. This further has raised the number of active cases to 11,661.

A total of 807,108 samples have been tested. Out of which 741,977 are negative.

As many as 1,656 people were discharged on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 52,649.

A total of 821 deaths have occurred so far, including six on Monday.

Around Rs 57,31,630 in fines have collected for 54,890 mask violations in the district.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 47,636 including 897 fresh cases on Monday. Out of these, 6,860 cases are currently active.

Over 549,327 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 837 patients were discharged on Monday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 40,505.

A total of 271 deaths have occurred so far, including five on Monday.
