Karnataka fresh corona cases soar over 45,000, 328 deaths in a single day

Bengaluru, May 6: The state on Thursday, May 6 continued to register a spike in the number of fresh coronavirus cases.

As per the health bulletin released by the state health department, the positive cases in the state rose to 49,058. Bengaluru Urban alone reported a huge number of 23,706 cases on Thursday alone.

As many as 3 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Thursday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 139 deaths and Ballari 26. With this, the toll so far has risen to 17,212.

Over 18,943 people were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total recoveries so far to 12,55,797.

So far, Karnataka has seen 17,90,104 positive cases so far.

The total number of active cases in the state are 5,17,075.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 29.83%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.66%. A total of 1,64,441 samples were tested between Wednesday and Thursday.

As many as 1,01,34,203 people have received vaccination so far in Karnataka.

    Actual cases and reported cases vary by a factor of 5x to 10x at least. Bangalore used to be serene city with 4M population in 1990. Now with a 13M population, most of them from filthy north, city has collapsed. . It is high time for the district admin bans entry of people from other districts , specially from ghat areas

    Feel sad for karnaraka. Recovery figure is not useful and it doesnt matter hw many people have recovered because those who recovered might get the covid again.
