Mangaluru, May 6: Former minister U T Khader, in a wry comment, said he is confused as to whether he should clap for the ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliance) of the BJP leaders or light a lamp, at the sight of the BJP leaders getting elated after getting on the ship carrying oxygen that came from Bahrain.
In a tweet made from his official Twitter handle, Khader commented that Karnataka does not have the right to use the oxygen generated within the state. He mocked at the BJP leaders for having gone up the oxygen ship from Bahrain and exulting, as the talk of self-reliance has been forgotten. "I damn your incapability", he told them.
Taking into consideration the emergent need for oxygen in India, through the 'Samudra Setu' operation of the central government, 40 metric tonnes of oxygen was transported by INS Talwar ship of the Indian Navy from Bahrain. On the ship's arrival at New Mangalore port on Wednesday, the BJP leaders had visited the port and extended a warm welcome to the ship.
