Curfew violations: Vehicles impounded, cases registered in Mangaluru, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 3: Police personnel of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, on Sunday May 2, impounded several vehicles registered cases for violating corona guidelines.

Five first information reports were lodged in Dakshina Kannada district. Cases were also registered against 266 persons for not wearing masks. As many as 17 vehicles were taken into possession for violating curfew. Within the police commissionerate here, 66 two-wheelers and four four-wheelers were seed. Under the Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention Act, 12 cases were registered. Fifteen cases were registered under the National Disaster Management Act.

In Udupi, 37 vehicles were taken into custody for violating lockdown norms. Six two-wheelers and three four-wheelers were seized and six Covid rule violation cases were filed.
