Mangaluru, May 1: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that third additional testing machine to make the Covid test results available faster will be installed at Wenlock hospital within three days at a cost of Rs 25 lac.

Poojary held a meeting with taluk and district level officers with regards to controlling the coronavirus second wave on Friday. He said that curfew is imposed to control Covid infection. Strict action should be taken on the violators.

He further said, "Due to curfew, people living in urban areas are migrating to villages. There is a possibility of the infection getting spread to villagers also. Task forces have to be formed at village level immediately. Members of these teams should take precautions and prevent the spread of infection at village level.

"If the coronavirus report gets delayed, if necessary, private testing centers can hold the test with the permission of the government.

"Under the limits of primary health center, in addition to providing proper treatment for Covid infected patients, primary contacts should be identified and they should be kept under home quarantine. Covid test should be done in the facility where they are quarantined.

"At taluk center Covid hospitals 50 ICU units should be established. This will reduce the pressure on the district Covid centers,” he said.

MLA Rajesh Naik, deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V, zilla panchayat CEO Dr Kumar and family welfare officer Kishore were present.

Poojary also instructed the DC to release funds to tahsildar as the cost of final rites of people who die of coronavirus will be borne by the government. In addition ambulance service will be provided free of cost.

True. RTPCR Testing is useless and not reliable. Keep the test only for the few who really require it.Concentrate on prevention and treatment, save lives , we are not interested in knowing how many "tested positive". Do not instill fear, give confidence to people that "We will together beat the virus".

Dotor, Correct and This unreliable and high sensitive RTPCR tests looks like Communists and Global elites incentives for hospitals and authorities for making money to push elites vaccine business through stats or numbers through these PCR pandemic. Use for few? Only if report comes negative, if common cold and if tests positive then one cannot travel outside till one gets cleared. High sensitive test one never knows if with common cold tests positive then once gone it may get classified as recovered with mild infections.
