New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): Overlooked for the coveted Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's ace shooter Gagan Narang Friday said he was demotivated and was thinking to skip the New Delhi Commonwealth Games this October.
"Well, I am quite disappointed and really don't know if I have the motivation to continue or even shoot at the Commonwealth Games and I have to take a break at the moment. Yes, I need a break to find a little motivation to continue," Narang said.
World No.2 Narang became the first Indian to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics after he won the bronze in the 10 metre air rifle at the World Championship in Munich last week.
The 27-year-old from Hyderabad returned to the capital early in the morning and was given an impressive welcome.
Narang took a dig at the P.T. Usha-led selection committee saying that the country's highest sporting honour was decided on the basis of public and media perception rather than the athletes' performance.
"I was really down after I was overlooked for the third consecutive time. I had to prove myself at the World Championship. Now I want to know how long should I keep proving myself for the Khel Ratna," Narang said.
