Udupi: Lawyers violate Covid protocol - Arrange lunch on court premises for several people

Udupi, Apr 23: Lawyers, who throw Covid rules to the wind and present their arguments in the court, violated the Covid protocol again. They arranged lunch for hundreds of people in the premises of the court itself on Friday, April 23.

Though the matter was brought to the notice of the city municipality and district administration no disciplinary action was taken.

The people even questioned whether Covid rules were applicable to the lawyers.

Further, the citizens were also enraged at the fact that the lunch should not have been arranged when the situation in Udupi is sensitive.

A notice under the Epidemic Act was issued by the district deputy commissioner to the CMC. The DC also asked the CMC commissioner to submit a report on why no action was taken against the organisers of the event.

Meanwhile, when questioned by the media CMC officials have denied attending the function.
