Bengaluru, Apr 22: The 15-day strike by the employees of KSRTC-BMTC cost the state exchequer a revenue loss to the tune of Rs 287 crore.
Four different transport corporations of the state have incurred a cumulative loss of Rs 287 crore. While KSRTC has incurred a loss of Rs 122.50 crore, the corresponding figures for BMTC, NWKRTC and NEKRTC are Rs 45 crore, Rs 57.50 crore and Rs 62 crore respectively. 995 employees who were under training have been terminated. In total, 2,941 employees from the four transport corporations are suspended from duty. Notice has been served to 7,666 employees.
The employees of the transport corporation held a strike from April 7 to 21 demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission and other demands. However, they withdrew the strike following the high court order on April 21.
The bus stations which were deserted without passengers due to the strike are back to business as usual. All the buses from all depots have resumed operations.
