Kalaburagi: Shortage of ICU bed - Woman roams with oxygen cylinder in auto rickshaw for six hours

Daijiworld Media Network - Kalaburagi (MS)

Kalaburagi, Apr 19: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred on Sunday April 18, a woman roamed in an auto rickshaw for six hours with an oxygen cylinder as she could not get a bed in ICU of hospitals.

A 55-year-old lady, resident of Basavanagar of the city fell sick on the morning of Sunday due to breathing difficulty and cough. Her family members took her to a private hospital. However, the private hospital authorities said that they do not have any ICU bed vacant and put her on an oxygen cylinder for artificial ventilation.

Later, the woman went to Vatsalya, Chirayu, Dhanwanthari, Crystal and ESI hospitals in the auto rickshaw with the oxygen cylinder in search of bed. As no beds were available, the family members of the woman brought her back to GIMS (Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences). Unfortunately, there was no bed available in GIMS also. The woman had to manage herself in the auto rickshaw with an oxygen cylinder for three hours in the simmering heat.

The sight of the woman in auto rickshaw suffering to breath was heart wrenching. At last, around afternoon, GIMS hospital authorities made arrangement of a bed in the ICU and got the woman admitted.

Manu India ,you are asking Pappu tho kya kartha? He is doing Yoga.It is heartwrenching to see how people are suffering. Now that lady was so many people in Riksha so close for hours. Now one can imagine who will be the next to seek hospital for treatment. With a oxygen cylinder moving about in city was more dangerous than sitting under a tree.what when cylinder gets fire and explode?Of course she was searching a bed around.Other side people hope realized now how dangerous it is to celebrate their kola and other religious feasts which usually not allowed .Even some politicians are asking to withdraw the bann on feasts. On this itself one can make out how much they know about this Pandamic and need of complete bann .Poor India.

Pappu has more vision and far farsightedness than anybody in the govt. They made fun of him and his ideas..... now they are implementing everything he had said.... too late though hence people have to suffer.... Lately he said to vaccine everyone and import vaccine,,,, that's what the govt. is doing now..... still they make fun of him..... actually who is the pappu now..... following / implementing his ideas...... People of India learn hard way.... they will never understand (most of them) how these dimwits in the govt are fooling them by their propaganda..... media and it cell of theirs are main culprits ... they are the one feed false info to the public... when the public realizes it will be too late..... half of India will be dead....

This means there could be already thousands of people with covid 19 not able to get admissions in a hospital. Thank God for BBC and Al Jazeera, which give some glimpse of Indian situation , like the BBC that showed this week two people in one bed in one hospital .

Front line workers like doctors, nurses, Asha workers, police who have died due to corona since the last have not got any compensation from the government promised by the PM. What about common man's plight? The central government only fooled the country since 2014.

whats the point of fighting here on this forum and exchanging words, its sad to see this reality of life . No political party is going to help, whether its x or y. Its only ur immediate family members going to suffer in the time of crisis, only people who is going to help is ur family and ur neighbours in time of need. Its TIME TO WAKE UP.

Pappu word is BJP's Propaganda, the way Rahul answers press meets, will our Honarable PM do that? We live in fake world, ithna jhoot bolo ki log ahista say jhoot ko hee such manlay. Every video of Rahul is tampered and edited by FEKU IT Cell for their propaganda. And fools share those video's they don't understand they become fool by themselves. Once a upon a time i was a genuine fan of Modi, i was among the people who trusted his words but time gave the real answer. Religion is in my heart and in deeds, we don't use religion to degrade someone or someone's community. "Stay safe and live the precious short life in compassion, dignity and in peace".

Worldwide spread of Corona is because of BJP, what a joke. Its not only BJP who did rallies every party did. Someone mentioning Rahul's ability to face press conference, come on, whenever he answers or show any mind stunts, no one even small kids dont understand what he wants to say or what he wants to communicate. He is other than laughing has nothing else.

People had lot's of hopes in BJP and on Modiji in particular. Modiji's speeches reached new horizon but developments took a reverse trend or remains stagnant. Governments revenues must have increased dramatically but people standard of living has gone bad to worse. Now time to blame over all calamities. The only benefit is for Gau Mathas.

Don't play with the lives of the people .In most of the hospitals people who are good in health are taking treatments only for the sake of corona positive. But theses type of needy patients are not getting beds in hospitals. Please discharge the people who are good in health and told them to take rest in home and provide beds to theses type of needy people.

@RSRB, Kundapura / Singapore, Corona was never controlled and the graph was flattened on its own due to various natural factors like herd immunity and Indians being highly immune to such virus compared to other western countries. The graph will also be flatted this time once it reaches the peak. So Modi and his government has done NOTHING to control the pandemic in India. They are unable to give vaccines to Indians and exporting to foreign countries to market Modi's name worldwide. You should be in India to understand the situation here not in Singapore.

Above all habitual drinkers must cut down (better stop for a few days) their liquor quota. Don't live under the false impression that those who booze will not get infected with corona. It's true that alcohol kills the virus but liquor kills one's immunity.

Thanks to the autodriver for taking patience to roam around for 6 hours with the patient. He gets his due but his helping nature and sympathi on that lady is praise worthy. Almost a year since the pandemic has been spreading but our government is not in a osition to increase the ICU units and beds. ? Busy collecting donations to build more temples and mandirs😥

Moshu, Mangaluru None of the pandemic has divided our country, for that matter any country. Even death toll of any pandemic has not crossed 20 lakhs. But the religious fundamentalism of our own brothers / blood relatives created a country in 1947. That ended up in death of more than 20 lakhs. Then millions were displaced and become homeless. Hence, fundamentalism of all those foreign religions should be put on check. That is most priority.

We had a lot of time (more than a year) to prepare for the second wave. Also only those who really require hospital admission should be provided beds,VIPs can be treated at home.
